The game has evolved from "a game" of skill and intuitiveness, to a gamble. This used to make me
bitter - but now I just drink liquid vicodin during each game. It helps when someone calls my 8 ducket
preflop raise in a 1/2 game (for those who can't multiply that is 4 times the big blind signifying I
have a decent hand) with a 2-4 off saying - "well, I had the money?
I figured I would take a chance - any two cards can win right?" We have all now realized that even in
a 1/2 game no raise is big enough to keep the silly play from happening. So now I just accept it and
drink my happy drink... but I am not bitter.

Forget all the crap the books and TV shows tell you,
when you have your money is the pot, don't let your opponent play you
down to catch cards. The game now has changed and players use the
phrase " oh hell, lets gamble" after the flop. Make big
raises and be willing to all in after the flop. 50-50, but you will
get paid sometimes. |

I'm the loser who runs out early, mostly because I have to wake up at the ungodly hour
of 3 a.m. for work - about the time the game breaks up. But that's OK, that still gives me about 4 hours
to spew my chips all over the table.
